Want to give the toy library a try? Our trial membership is a great way to see if it's right for your family. For just $10 a month for three months, you'll enjoy full borrowing privileges and can easily upgrade to an annual membership later by simply paying the difference. Most of our memberships allow you to borrow up to six toys at a time, helping keep playtime fresh and exciting. Committee members can borrow up to eight toys, while grandparent memberships allow up to three toys at a time.

To help keep the toy library running smoothly, some memberships include a small number of rostered duties. Duties involve supporting our toy librarians during opening hours on a Saturday or Monday, assisting with toy returns, shelving, and general collection management.

Membership FAQs

Can't complete your rostered duties? That's okay.

If you're unable to complete your rostered duties, we'll simply charge the difference between your membership and a non-duty membership. For fully rostered memberships this is $120, and for partly rostered memberships it's $60.

Are there any other fees or charges?

Some of our more expensive toys incur an additional fee of $2 per toy for each rental period, and we charge for our party hire equipment. But the vast majority of our toys, including dressups and ride on toys are free to hire for all members. You can place a hold on an item for $1 a toy and we also have a click and collect service for just $1 per toy.

What's involved with a rostered membership?

Rostered members sign up for duties on a day that suits them using our online calendar.  Duties are for two hours on a Friday or Saturday, working alongside the Toy Librarian and usually involve checking and counting toys that members are returning and tidying the shelves. Easy peasy, and our librarian is always there.

Sounds amazing! How do I join?

You're welcome to come on down to the library on a Monday or Saturday morning to check out our collection and speak to the librarians about any questions you may have. You can also sign up on the spot and take your first toys home that day! You can fill out the online form too to speed things up on the day.

How do I pay for my membership?

Payment can be made by internet banking only. Sorry, we don't have eftpos or take cash anymore! Our bank account number is 12-3216-0127581-00.  Just quote your surname and membership number (found on all communications from the toy library).

How does the refer a friend deal work?

If you refer a friend to the Toy Library, you both get $10 off your membership fee! This is only for members when they roll onto a 12 month contract and trial memberships are not eligible.
